Day 13- Paris (Good Eats)

There are very few things in life that I enjoy more than condiments and macaroons. For many years, the image of mustard in my mind was bright yellow with too much vinegar. But through years of culinary taste and see, I realized that Americans have extremely skewed tastes and discovered the true taste of well done mustard. Lola led me to the single Maille store in Paris. I wish I'd gotten a photo of the stacks and stacks of mustard. You can bring empty cans and pay for refills there, too, dispensed through various pumps. And the second place doesn't need an introduction, as it's the famous Laduree.

Day 12 - Paris

After a full day of traveling, we arrived in France to a very rainy and grey Paris. Right next to our hostel was a cute restaurant that served confit du canard, so I was completely sold. Turned out that they also have live music on Fridays. It was such a nice treat after a rough day. I came to realization that night that my favorite activity in Paris is sitting at a restaurant and getting crunk off red wine.

Day 11- Oslo (continued)

I had to make a whole post about the Vigeland Sculpture Park, and it's pretty obvious why. The craziest thing happened when we left our hostel to go to the park, though. While we were waiting for the trikk (the tram), three male teens wearing these red overalls with the Norweigian flag all over them walked up to the stop and started hassling the people waiting there. Then, ONE OF THEM UNZIPPED HIS FLY AND PISSED ONTO THE ROAD. I've seen drunk men piss on the street before, but they were homeless and had enough courtesy to go into an alley to face a wall. Needless to say, I was horrified.

Day 10- Stockholm (continued)

After a full day outdoors, dinner was served at Spisa hos Helena. I ordered the beef, while Lola opted for the fish. I think it's in the gay district, or maybe it's just a gay friendly restaurant as I spotted the cutest gay couple dining a few tables away from us. Thus concluded our last day in Stockholm. I was so sad to see our time at an end in Sweden.

Day 10- Stockholm

My new best day ever was the last day we spent in Stockholm. We began the early afternoon with a bike ride around Djurgården. It was the perfect early spring day. Mild weather, lots of sun, beautiful water, clear blue skies... The island restricts car use, so it's perfect for bike riding. Plus they have a lot of bike paths, so you can pick and choose your route. I did some house oogling, and I think I've found my dream house. Or one of them, at least.
