Not feeling so great after the surgery, not gonna lie. Despite that I've had less bruising and swelling in comparison to the other people who went into surgery with me, I spent the past three days trying to decide if I regret undergoing this operation. It's painful, and if anyone tells you otherwise, they are a liar.
I'm currently in this studio apartment in Mok-dong, trying not to concentrate on watching the swelling go down. I've been obsessively documenting my progress on Photobooth. (Still trying to decide if these photos will ever see the light of day because they're really embarrassing. I took my first shower today since the op. I think that should say enough.)
I'm going back to the hospital tomorrow morning to refit my mouth with the bite wafer because it keeps moving whenever I try to cough out phlegm. Sexy.
I don't know when I'm going to be able to go out and about in public again. Those days seem very far away, indeed.

Hey. I found your blog through soompi :)
ReplyDeleteI'm planning on getting this surgery done in a year or so, as I have to get my braces first and have them on for like a year, preparing the mouth for the surgery, then have the surgery and then have the braces a little further after that.
So I read your other posts and it seems that you only had to have the braces for like a week before the operation? seems like Korea is more developed jaw surgery wise than where I live cos I don't think any surgeons do it without having the braces for a long period before surgery here!
Anyway, I hope you feel better soon. I've seen progress videos on youtube and everybody looks pretty great after 2 weeks or so. I know it may sound a lot but hey, you're almost there!
For me, it's pretty scary after reading all the comments and stuff and really the braces part really puts me off cos they're suppossed to make my underbite even look uglier and more exaggerated before the surgery so I'm really scared of that part. I'm scared I'll feel so ugly that I won't even want to leave the house. But I think it'll all be worth it in the end as I've suffered a lot from having this problem since I was a child :/
Oh well, this is such a long comment haha I'll stop it here. and sorry for my English!
i hope you are prescription cocktailin' it up, girl. feel better!
