After hitting my car by attempting to make a right turn from a center lane:
me: What are you doing?!?! You can't turn from a middle lane!
him: ... yeah, but you were on your cell phone.
me: I wasn't, but it doesn't matter if I was picking my nose and sticking my fingers up my butt! You still can't turn from the middle lane!
Nobody was hurt, thankfully.
But now I'm going to court.
Liars never win. Karma always gets you. And if karma doesn't, then fuku will.

STRUGGLES!
After work, I met a friend for dinner in the gay district. We had margaritas, guacamole, and enchiladas. They were absolutely delicious. Then we grabbed coffee and walked around the park where we cooed at a Vietnamese baby who had just arrived three weeks ago to his doting dads. (This was a rare moment for me as I NEVER, EVER coo at children - even if they are members of my own family, but I have a soft spot for certain Vietnamese babies. Don't ask me why.)
When I got back to my car, IT WOULDN'T START. The gay district is the worst area to have car troubles. You can get fantastic compliments on your outfit, but nobody knows what a jump cable is. Luckily, the police officer overseeing the security at the gay bar had a cable and was kind enough to jump my car for me.
I really need to get some cables. I would be more inclined to buy them if they came in prints (Celia Birtwell, maybe?) instead of the regular red/black, yellow/black combinations.

big, fat FAIL
I bought this skirt a long time ago, but never got a chance to wear it since the weather has been too muggy. But fall has officially arrived with nice, cool weather. I love it.
Fall has made me suddenly nostalgic. Today, I was thinking about that one day during my England study abroad (too many falls ago) when the G.B.F. and I spent four hours wandering around Camden. We had so much fun looking at all the different types of people and gorged on fried plaintains and burritos. I wish I could relive that day.

if i only knew your name i'd go from door to door
I have no excuse for being such a flaky blogger. I promise to come back with more WIWT posts and more fashion analysis. I'm kinda on a self-imposed social probation (on top of a shopping ban - I'm turning into a hermit) so I haven't really done much besides work on my top secret project.
Here are my two favorite lines from NY Fashion Week. No one else found these two to be that exciting, which means one of the following:
- I have bad taste.
- These lines are too weird.
- These lines are too safe.
- ...once again, I have bad taste.
I'm such a huge fan of Kirsten Dunst, and I really thought she's such a fitting child for Boy by Band of Outsiders. This line is rather safe and maybe a bit too wearable. But there's really nothing I love more than menswear on women. Pantsuits, shortsuits, ties, blazers, bowties... I really love the dress in the middle. It looks so soft and comfy and so femme fatale at the same time.

I'm always a huge, huge, HUGE fan of Yohji Yamamoto's anything. The man has a touch of brilliance that simply cannot be duplicated. I mean, who would have ever thought that sporty flapper was ever possible (far left)? Everything he makes for Y-3 has the potential to work from the office to a walk in the park with the dogs. I love the whimsical white skirt in the center and those little hats are TOO MUCH!

vicky b.!
My adoration for Victoria Beckham is no secret. This girl can do no wrong. Granted her husband sounds like an idiot when he opens his mouth, but he's got one of the best bodies in the world (he's gotten "fat" since he's come to America - if that's what fat look like, then sign me up!) and is undoubtedly one of the best footballers of our time.
If I could be reincarnated, I would like to come back as Vicky's daughter. Can you imagine what kind of closet that girl would inherit?! I wish "Cribs" would go to their L.A. mansion and just do a chronicle of her closet. I bet you couldn't even fit it into an hour.
She unveiled her new hairstyle today at the NYC launch of her own line. I think she pulls it off very well, though I could see why people wouldn't like it. You're probably missing her WAG-trashtic extensions of yesteryear.

makes my heart flutter, pitter patter
The last time I had a crush on a blonde boy was Devon Sawa. It was right after I saw him on "Casper" and escalated when he played Christina Ricci's love interest in "Now and Then." By the time "Wild America" came out, it had tapered but I still feel nostalgic about him.
That's what I thought about when I saw these pictures on Stockholm Street Style last week.
Their styles are starkly contrasting. On the left is the casual, student look, and on your right is a more polished, post-grad/young professional. Why can't men in the A look more like this? All I get is urban or badly dressed yuppie (suits in a pub - SERIOUSLY?! You're not that special). Can I get a break?

Is there anyone in the UK who would be willing to forward a pair of boots to me? They won't ship to the US, and I want them so badly they've been showing up in my dreams. I would pay for shipping and everything as well as a small fee for your troubles.
If not, does anyone know anywhere I can get this kind of service? I'm desperate!
